Jackson Owens
Jackson Owens (born 5 November 1997 in Turangi, New Zealand) is a musician and recording artist who is currently a lead singer for the boy band Far Young.
== Early music career ==
Born into a musical family of Maori origins, Owens first gained fame in his native New Zealand as a contestant and live-audition performer on the TV program ''New Zealand’s Got Talent''. He also performed Michael Jackson's ''Who's Loving You'' on the nationally televised ''Maori Affairs Programme''.
In 2010, at age 12, he was selected to be NZ’s singing representative at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where he won a gold medal and two silver medals and was named “Best Overall Boy Vocal: Junior Section 8-15 years old.”
After winning the 2009 Australian Idol title, Stan Walker chose Owens to open for him at the Winner’s Tour concert stop at Rotorua, New Zealand.〔http://www.nzherald.co.nz/music/news/article.cfm?c_id=264&objectid=11214924&ref=rss〕
